This tool creates the numbers behind retail barcodes, in EAN-13 or UPC-A format, each with a correct check digit. They suit testing point of sale systems, product catalogues and any form that validates a barcode number.
The check digit
Both EAN-13 and UPC-A end in a check digit worked out by weighting the other digits and taking a mod 10 result. The tool builds the data digits at random and calculates that final digit, so the number scans as valid to software that checks it.
Numbers, not images
This tool produces the numeric value, not a scannable image. The numbers are well formed but assigned to no real product, and everything is built in your browser with nothing sent anywhere.
